Abstract: In the paper, the compressive strength of reinforced concrete was investigated in the presence of stray current only or both stray current and chloride ion. Results indicated that combined effect of stray current and chloride ion on the mechanical property of reinforced concrete was more obvious than when only stray current was applied and that effect was enhanced with the increase of voltages, chloride ion concentration and corrosion duration. A mathematical relationship was established between the loss in compressive strength and intensity of stray current, chloride ion concentration and time.
