Abstract: A class of composites is called as the composite materials with inconsistently random distribution if their random distribution characteristics are variable, for example, functional gradient material. A new statistically second-order two-scale method is developed for predicting the mechanical parameters of composite materials with inconsistently random distribution, including stiffness and elastic limit strength. In this paper, the micro-configuration of the consistently/inconsistently random composites is represented. The statistically second-order two-scale analysis formulation is briefly shown. And then the computation for the stiffness and strength of inconsistently random composites is discussed, and the procedure of the statistically second-order two-scale computation is stated. Finally, the numerical results for stiffness and elastic limit strength of composites with inconsistently random distribution are shown.
