Abstract: Results of exposure tests of concrete containing different mineral admixtures in highly aggressive (large temperature difference and saline-alkaline soil) environment are presented in this study. The effect of material compositions on the corrosion resistance of concrete is investigated. Porosity of concrete samples and the interfacial transition zone are analyzed with Mercury intrusion porosimetry, scanning electron microscope and microhardness test. It is shown that the addition of mineral admixture can greatly refine the pore structure of concrete and decrease its connectivity. The corrosion resistance and durability of concrete structures are thus enhanced.
