Abstract: This paper integrated 3D braiding technique with SFRC and developed 3-D braided steel fiber reinforced concrete (3D-BSFC). Uniaxial compressive test of the BSFC samples revealed that the mechanical performance of BSFC is much better than that of SFRC. For BSFC, higher fiber content and smaller fiber diameter result in higher strength and toughness.
Compressive strength of BSFC reached 3 times of the matrix strength. Failure of BSFC exhibited the characteristics of ductile failure mode.
