Abstract: Historic buildings and centers, an important part of our cultural heritage, need to be preserved. In order to reach this goal, a deeper knowledge is needed. The main objective of an EC project involving 15 partners is the development and improvement of methodologies for the evaluation of structural and material properties. These methodologies are based on non-destructive (NDT) and minor destructive (MDT) testing methods that are adapted and optimized to assess selected damages and testing problems. The achieved results of the project are outlined.
