Abstract: This paper focuses on the tests on bending performance of simply supported beams strengthened with FRP and/or steel bars. The test results indicate that the beams strengthened with FRP bars have higher loading capacity of normal section than those strengthened with steel bars. Meanwhile the bending capacity, the cracks development and the mid-span deflection were carefully investigated.
