Abstract: As an oversize crossing ocean traffic engineering to link the Hong Kong, Macao and Zhuhai, the HK-Zhuhai-Macao (HZM) link project is required to have the service life of 120 years. In this paper the probabilistic durability design method based on the material deterioration model and actual environment of this project is introduced. The experimental data of exposure test which was carrying out for more than 20 years at Zhanjiang Harbor and investigate data getting from durability examination of marine concrete structure in south China are adopted for statistical analysis to obtain the parameters of the durability model that relate to environment, material and execution factors. In this way the regularities of distribution of the parameters such as the concrete cover thickness, surface chloride concentration, critical chloride concentration, chloride diffusion coefficient etc. Then the partial factors relevant for HZM structure are calculated under the target reliability index.
Finally the ternary relation of "service life-cover thickness-chloride diffusion coefficient" is established. This durability design method based on actual environment is credible in technology and the durability control targets that could assure the service life of 120 years for the concrete structure are correspondingly accurate.
