Abstract: The effects of volume fraction of cement paste, water/cement ratio, replacement dosage of fly ash (FA), kind and size of aggregate, air content of fresh concrete and water content on the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of concrete were studied and compared in this paper.
The results showed that, the influence extent of volume fraction of cement paste and water/cement ratio to CTE is lower than other factors; With the replacement dosage of FA increased, the CTE of concrete decreased, but the per strength CTE increased obviously when the replacement dosage exceed 10%. The influence of aggregate kind and moisture content of concrete to CTE of concrete is higher than other factors, and aggregate size could influence CTE of concrete in a certain extent; Some function materials such as carbon fiber and air-entraining agent could reduce the CTE in a low extent, and can bring many other questions such as strength decreased and price increased.
