Abstract: Effects of scatter-filling recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) on properties of high fluidity concrete were investigated in this paper. The results showed that uniformity and compressive strength of the hardened concrete at 3 and 28 days can be obviously improved while scatter-filling RCA with higher strength than that of the hardened high-fluidity concrete.
However, properties of the hardened high-fluidity concrete were dependent on the volume percent of the RCA scatter-filled when the origin concrete of the RCA showed obviously lower strength than that of the hardened high-fluidity concrete. The compressive strength at 3 and 28 days were clearly enhanced and the autogenous shrinkage was obviously reduced while scatter-filling less than 30% of the RCA in the high-fluidity concrete. However, scatter-filling more than 40% of the RCAwill result in decrease of the strength at 28 days.
