Abstract: This study included the researches of various types of Automated Refuse Collection System (ARCS) in the world, formulating system options of ARCS for Southeast Kowloon Development, and cost estimation for each system option. Three options of ARCS were formulated, which are, one system for each individual development, one system for each subdistrict integrating several developments, and one system for the entire Southeast Kowloon Development. Option 1 was recommended with the most economical capital cost and total cost.
