Abstract: Material and geometry parameters of TRC strengthening layers are uncertain. In order to consider this uncertainty in the design process, a reliability based design concept is introduced. The concept is based on the generalized uncertainty model fuzzy randomness and the deterministic analysis of strengthened RC structures by means of the multi-reference-plane model. By reason of applicability for complex structures, the introduced numerical approach is supported by soft computing methods utilizing artificial neural networks. The neural networks partly substitute the response of the model.
