Abstract: 
This chapter reviews basic procedures of outdoor weathering and discusses some of the related effects on the durability of materials. The author outlines some of the more important weathering issues and their effect on exposure conditions. Exposure methods, especially the effect of the exposure angle, mounting methods, geographical location of exposure sites, and the seasonal variability in exposure conditions are discussed. Two specific test locations, Florida and Arizona, are described as international benchmarks for natural weathering testing.
