Future structure of RILEM events
 
To meet the RILEM sustainability goals and the inclusiveness and regional accessibility needs of its members, RILEM has decided to implement some changes in the schedule of its two main events: the Spring Convention and the Annual Week. You can read here the details of these changes that will start from 2028.

 
 

Life of TCs
 
The members of the RILEM Technical Activities Committee have recently approved 3 new Technical Committees:
- ASM Atomistic Simulations for Cement-Based Materials: Recommendations and link to experiments, chaired by Tulio Honorio de Faria, Cluster B.
- IAQ Impact of Building Materials on Indoor Air Quality, chaired by Julie Hot, Cluster D.
- MTZ Influence of Recycled Aggregates on Multi-Interfacial Transition Zones in Recycled Concrete, chaired by Jianzhuang Xiao, Cluster B.

Peer-to-Peer webinar in June
 
The next Peer-to-Peer webinar, titled “Biopolymer-Stabilized Earth: A Material Perspective” will take place on 23 June 2025, at 2PM Eastern Time. SAVE the DATE
 
The 2027 Spring Convention and Conference on Wastes in Building Materials and Constructions in the New Era will take place on 6-10 April 2027 in Thessaloniki, Greece. This event will address cutting-edge topics in sustainable construction, emphasizing the transformative potential of waste utilization in the construction industry.

 
 

TC 274-TCE recommendation
 
RILEM TC 274-TCE Testing and characterisation of earth-based building materials and elements officially terminated its activities in 2022, but the writing of the research results of this TC never stopped. Materials and Structures has recently published a recommendation from this TC concerning a test method to determine the apparent vapor transfer coefficient of earthen building products. It is an Open Access paper, available here, enjoy!
