Launch of the Surendra and Dorothie Shah Chair

RILEM is delighted to share the news about the new Surendra and Dorothie Shah Chair, at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India. The launch of this initiative was on 9 December 2021, in person and online. During the ceremony, the name of the Chair occupant was revealed. RILEM congratulates Prof. Ramamurthy K, working in Sustainable Building Technology, Foam Concrete and Aerated Concrete, Lightweight aggregates using industrial wastes and High Performance Masonry. RILEM hopes to see this promising researcher amongst its members soon.

Prof. Surender Shah was Robert L'Hermite Medallist in 1980, RILEM Fellow in 1994, and RILEM Honorary member in 2010. Prof. Shah currently serves as the Presidential Distinguished Professor, University of Texas, and Walter P. Murphy Emeritus Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Northwestern University.
