Jennifer Anette Canul Polanco was the winner of the RILEM award - silver prize, for her poster, in technical content category at the RILEM doctoral course “Concrete technology – State of the art and future”, that took place in Nanjing, China, on 21‐25 August 2019. Jennifer is a PhD student at Technical University of Denmark, DTU, Denmark. She is originally from Mexico. She started her PhD in January 2018 and she expects to finish her degree in 2021.

Jennifer is a young RILEM member and she would like to join the TC 267-TRM: Tests for reactivity of supplementary cementitious materials. In her free time, Jennifer plays rugby!

The award that Jennifer received in Nanjing is only one of many RILEM initiatives to support young minds in their careers. For the 74th RILEM Annual Week, that will take place in Sheffield, UK, in September 2020, PhD students from developing countries, including Mexico where Jennifer is from, can apply for the RILEM PhD grant that will cover registration fees and travel costs to attend this event. More information will soon become available on the official webpage of the event.
